Fortification of the Island of Hvar
Fortification of the island of Hvar was built in the 16th century and is located on the hill above the city of Hvar.
Arsenal
Arsenal was built in the 13th century; in 1612 theatre was built on the floor above Arsenal and it is the oldest public theatre in the world.
The Hektorovic Palace
Even though they started to built this palace in 1463 it was never finished but it is still one of the most beautiful late Gothic buildings on the island of Hvar.

The remains of the Antique city of Pharos
Old Town is the oldest city on the island and if you venture to go there you can still see the remains of the ancient city of Pharos that was founded by the Greeks 385 BC.

There is another fortification in a little place called Šućuraj on the island of Hvar. The fortification was built in 1613 during the time of war between Venetians and Turks.

Franciscan monastery was built in the 15th century and it served as a retreat for sailors. Today one can find a vast collection of ecclesiastical books, old coins, pictures and other interesting exhibits of the past in this beautiful monastery.
